Meditation Sunglasses…I Can See Clearly Now

Dear Friends,

Do you remember trying on colored sunglasses as a child?

Do you remember that new experience and feeling of seeing your world through different colored lenses?  Remember seeing everything in red, blue, green, or yellow…pretty cool right?

Meditation is the same way–Its like putting on a special pair of lenses that let you see things differently, in a totally new way, and in exactly the way you desire.

The interesting thing about this comparison is that meditation can be just as predictable and encompassing as putting on a new pair of colored glasses.

Here are some thoughts and questions that will take us into our question of the week.

Think about meditation this way for a moment: think about it as if meditation is exactly like wearing special colored glasses that make everything you see and take in have that color to them–“meditation sunglasses” if you will 🙂color-glasses-663248_1920

Building from this, let me ask you: How do different colors make you feel? Do you have a favorite? Do you have any special or empowering associations with any colors in particular?

When you wake up in the morning, how do you see things? How does your view of things (your identity, your body, the people you interact with, your life) change throughout your day? Do you feel categorically different when you go to work, walk in the office, go to the cafe, talk to this or that person etc.–are the shifts like changing the color of glasses you’re wearing?

What if you could totally change the way you perceive and experience something for the better and it was as easy as changing the color of your sunglasses?  It is!

People often just lack a systematic, clear and effective approach. This is what my book provides.

Without a doubt, when your will and desire are strong enough, you will have the dedication and consistent positive feedback from the process that will enable you to be and create all that your soul inspires.

Question of the Week

What color of meditation sunglasses are you wearing now? Is this the way you want to see and be in the world? If so, great–tell me about it!  If not, how do you want to see and be in the world? How do you want to see and be in the morning, afternoon, and night? How do you want to see and be in the world by the end of this year?

Take a few minutes now to answer these questions in a stream of consciousness way–no censoring, don’t think to much, just let it flow. Here they are again:

  1. How do you want to see and be in the world now?
  2. How do you want to see and be in the world throughout your day: morning, afternoon, and night?
  3. How do you want to see and be in the world by the end of this year?

Answer these and let this become the focus of your meditation once or twice (or more).
